︎︎︎ Agricultural Innovation Workshops 2026
At the end of April, REON joined the Agricultural Innovation Workshops of the ADRURAL Project in Lefkada, sharing our projects and spending time with people from across the Ionian Islands and Epirus.
Through conversations, presentations, and meetings, we explored how local communities can create, grow, and build on what they already have, their land, ancestral knowledge, and re-meeting their culture.
We had the pleasure to present our projects along fellow inspiring initiatives such as the Aitaro collective (Lefkada), focusing on the revival of traditional weaving, Ta Psila Vouna (Eastern Zagori), presenting actions to encourage residents to return to mountainous villages and support local producers through direct connections with consumers without intermediarie, and Lefkada Micro Farm, award-winning olive oil from the Asprolia variety, produced by Mr. Andreas Dimitrakopoulos.
This couple of days that felt like a reminder of the potential already present in rural places, and how important it is to give it the space and support to grow.
The workshops were organized by the Regional Union of Municipalities of the Ionian Islands (PED-IN) on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Lazarata and on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in Sivros, Lefkada.
