Over the past 5 years, REON has been on a mission to transform the abandoned school of Porta village in north-eastern Corfu into an open space for ceramic arts, education, community and artistic practise. The process has been messy, transformative, filled with moments of human connection and possibility. Last year, we were finally able to rework the exterior of the building and began shaping the big wild garden in a non-invasive way.
This gradual transition has been possible thanks to REON’s wonderful supporters, sponsors and friends, PED-IN, and the personal work of our tiny (for the moment) team. The re-use of the former public school has been enabled under the aegis of the Munincipality of North Corfu. Below are a few images from our archive.
